Content 'is vital to good SEO'

Firms looking to improve their search engine optimisation (SEO) campaigns should invest in good quality content, an expert has asserted. In an article for USA Today, Steve Strauss claimed that SEO can be an effective way to level the playing field for small businesses trying to compete with larger corporations.

While social media such as Twitter can also improve the visibility of a company, creating original content that it regularly uploaded is one of the simplest ways to boost SEO.

He revealed that in a recent discussion with marketing guru John Jantsch, the creator of Duct Tape Marketing, the expert told him that one of the best things a firm could do to expand their business would be to "commit to creating content regularly and putting it online".

This, he said, would help improve a company's online visibility and could boost traffic to a site.

Jill Kocher, manager of natural search consulting at search marketing firm Netconcepts, recently said in an article for MultiChannelMerchant.com that content needs to have human value because people are the end targets of online marketing.
