Ecommerce firms 'should focus on keyword lists'

<a href=Ecommerce sites looking to improve search engine optimisation (SEO) need to focus on their keyword lists first, it has been suggested. ">In an article for Promotionworld.com, Karon Thackston said the search terms chosen are of vital importance because they will be used in all areas of development through to the copy.

She recommended starting with broader terms and then working towards more specific search terms.

The expert said that as ecommercewebsite owners work through their site, they should select keywords that reflect what is available on each page.

One of her tips for doing this efficiently was to create a chart with a list of what search terms go where.

However, she advised against using too many search terms for each page because each one provides an opportunity to rank by itself on search engines.

This comes after Andrew Redfern said in an article for HitSearch that SEO can help boost the exposure of an ecommerce site.
