MicrosoftWindows 7 could be the best yet released, an expert has claimed. ">Tony Bradley, information security and unified communications expert, said in an article for PC World that he believes the OS could turn out to have the same longevity as Windows XP.
A recent report by netmarketshare.com found that XP has over 71 per cent of the OS market and that Vista has about 18 per cent, which means that there is potential for the Windows 7 to take over the majority of the world's computers.
Other categories he said Windows 7 could perform well in are device and software support, and security.
He noted that Microsoft releases monthly updates and patches to ensure that Windows OSs are capable of dealing with threats, bugs and other issues.
"It is too early to measure Windows 7 against most of the factors I listed, but I do think given time it could emerge as the best version of Windows and maybe even the best OS," Mr Bradley commented.
This comes after Simon May, author of The Rough Guide to Windows 7, said the OS could have a positive effect on Microsoft's reputation.
